To assure that your friend receives the best care possible, you must fulfill your side of the partnership by properly preparing for boarding.<strong> <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\"> You can ensure the best vacation for your cat by preparing in the following way:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><strong> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.courteouscanines.com\/courteous-canines-training\/images\/paw-bullet-point.png\" \/> <\/strong><strong>10 Days in Advance<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Make sure that you have written proof that all of your pet\u2019s vaccines are current. We require that the following vaccinations have been given:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Rabies<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Distemper<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Parvovirus<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Parainfluenza<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Bordetella (We require Bordetella inoculations within the past 6 months).<\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;\">PLEASE NOTE \u2013 Bordetella vaccines must not be given within 10 days of boarding<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">We suggest the following vaccines have also been given within the past 12 months but do not require it:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Lyme vaccine<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Leptospirosis<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Health Certificate- If your dog is not an Illinois resident, please note: The State of Illinois requires that all dogs brought into Illinois must be accompanied by an official health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian issued within 30 days prior to entry. We MUST have a copy of this certificate prior to boarding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Medications-Be sure that you have enough medications to last the entire boarding stay, if your pet requires them. Please bring something in which to put the pills. We suggest \u201cpill pockets\u201d available in pet stores or from your veterinarian.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Heartworm medication- Will heartworm medication be required while you are gone?  Please do not give your pet heartworm medication early because you will be gone.  Bring your heart-worm medication, and we will be happy to administer it at no additional charge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\"> PLEASE NOTE: We do not administer injections without a prior discussion and there will be a $3.00 charge per injection. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><strong> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.courteouscanines.com\/courteous-canines-training\/images\/paw-bullet-point.png\" \/> 1-2 Days in Advance<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Prepare and assemble your check- in information. The following will be required when you check in.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Your itinerary, in case we need to contact you.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Names and phone numbers of at least two emergency contacts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Your veterinarian\u2019s name, phone number, after-hours number and address.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Any pertinent medical information about your pet, such as allergies, seizures or other special health concerns.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Check in form- we can email you the check-n form in advance and you can bring it with you when you check in.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Items to pack for your pet<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Food \u2013Be sure to that you have enough food for the boarding period.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Treats-Cats have a reputation for being \u201cfinicky\u201d and in many cases it\u2019s deserved. If there is a special treat that your cat enjoys, we ask that you provide an ample supply for the entire stay. Otherwise, we gladly provide health, nutritious treats for the kitties.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\"> Feel free to bring a variety of toys and chews to amuse your dog; however, WE DO NOT ACCEPT RAWHIDE, COW HOOVES, PIG EARS, or FRESH RAW CHEW BONES of any type in our facility.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Bedding<strong>&#8211; <\/strong>We provide a comfortable, &#8220;chew-proof&#8221; resting platform in each den. However, many dogs have their own bed or find it comforting to have a blanket, rug, or old sweatshirt that &#8220;smells like home&#8221; to sleep on.  You may bring these articles.  Be aware that dogs may react differently in a boarding situation and chew articles that they do not chew at home.  We recommend that you do not bring their &#8220;best&#8221; blanket, but rather an older item that will not matter if destroyed by your dog. We cannot guarantee the condition in which bedding items will be returned.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><strong> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.courteouscanines.com\/courteous-canines-training\/images\/paw-bullet-point.png\" \/> The Day of Arrival<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Allow time to check in. We do not recommend dropping your pet off \u201con your way to the airport\u201d. Our pets are very sensitive to our moods and feelings. If you are feeling stressed due to worry about catching a plane, your friend will arrive at the hotel agitated and concerned. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Feeding- DO NOT FEED YOUR DOG within 4 hours of check-in time.   This is an exciting experience for your pet.  Having eaten recently may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, or worse.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Relax!
